Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Screening/Shortlisting: Applications will be screened and candidates shortlisted in the ratio of 1:5 (5 times the total vacancies in each category, subject to a minimum of 5) based on total marks (Mains + Personality Test) obtained in UPSC CSE-2024.
- Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): Shortlisted candidates will appear in a CPT of 100 marks and 1 hour duration. The CPT is qualifying in nature and will test proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheet, and Generation of Slides. Minimum threshold marks: UR-40%, EWS-37%, OBC-37%, SC-35%, ST-35%, All PwBD-30%. The CPT will be held tentatively in Delhi.
- Final Selection: Final merit list will be prepared based on total marks (Mains + Personality Test) in UPSC CSE-2024, subject to qualifying the CPT with minimum threshold marks.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification with original documents.
- Tie-Breaking: In case of tie, resolved by: (i) Higher marks in Mains of CSE-2024, (ii) Older date of birth, (iii) Earlier acquisition of essential degree, (iv) Alphabetical order of first names.
- Cadre Allocation: A single merit list will be prepared. Cadre (General/Finance & Accounts/Stores & Purchase) will be allocated by CSIR based on merit and candidate’s choice. Cadre once allotted is final and unchangeable.

- Probation: Selected officers will be on probation for 2 years from the date of joining, extendable or curtailable at the discretion of the Appointing Authority.
