Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
Stage-I: Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Objective type questions covering relevant subjects, Arithmetic, Mental Ability & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General English (varies by post).
- Total 100 marks; Duration: 3 hours (3 hours 60 minutes for VH/OH candidates with specified disabilities).
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark for each wrong answer (for most posts); 1/4 mark for LDC, Forest Guard, Steno Grade-II, Store Keeper, Library Information Assistant, MTS.
- Minimum qualifying marks: Gen/EWS – 50; SC/ST/OBC – 40; PH(Gen & EWS) – 45; PH(SC, ST & OBC) – 40 (for most posts); Gen/EWS – 40; SC/ST – 33; OBC – 40; PH – 33 (for LDC/Forest Guard/Steno/Store Keeper/Library/MTS).
Stage-II: Descriptive Test (Qualifying)
- Short Essay (~300 words) and a Letter/Application (one in Hindi, one in English).
- Maximum Marks: 50 (25+25); Duration: 45 minutes.
- Minimum qualifying marks: 50% of maximum marks.
- Pen and Paper mode, held in Dehradun only.
- Shortlisted candidates (5 times the number of vacancies per category) from CBT will be called.
Stage-III: Skill/Trade Test (Qualifying)
- Technician (Maintenance): Skill/Trade Test
- Lower Division Clerk: Typing Test
- Forest Guard: Physical standards verification followed by 25 km walk for Men and 14 km for Women in 4 hours
- Stenographer Grade-II: Stenography Test
Final Merit: Based on marks secured in CBT only (with tie-breaking rules), for candidates who qualify Descriptive and Skill/Trade Tests (wherever applicable).

- All posts are temporary but likely to continue. Candidates will be confirmed after successful completion of probationary period.

- OBC candidates must belong to Non-Creamy Layer; certificate valid for FY 2025-26 required.
- EWS candidates must have gross annual family income below Rs. 8 Lakh; Income and Asset Certificate required.
- SC/ST/PWD/Female applicants are exempted from application fee; only processing fee of Rs. 700/- applicable.
- Candidates working in Govt. Departments/PSUs must apply through proper channel with NOC and Vigilance Clearance Certificate.
- No interview will be conducted. Trade/Skill test will be conducted wherever applicable.
- Examination fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- Legal disputes subject to jurisdiction of competent court in Uttarakhand.
- Candidates found indulging in malpractices will be debarred for periods ranging from 2 to 7 years depending on the nature of malpractice.
- Total vacancies: 91 (UR-13, SC-03, ST-15, OBC-43, EWS-17). Number of posts subject to change or may become zero; application fee will be refunded if post becomes zero.
