- Application Scrutiny: All applications will be scrutinized for nationality, age, educational qualification, and sports achievements from 01.01.2022 to 30.06.2026.
- Shortlisting based on Sports Merit: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the following order of preference:
- 1st: Represented India in International Competition (with clearance of Department of Sports).
- 2nd: Represented State/UT in Senior or Junior National Championships (medal/position up to 3rd place); Senior National preferred over Junior National.
- 3rd: Represented University in Inter-University competition / Khelo India University Games (medal/position up to 3rd place).
- 4th: Represented State/UT in Khelo India Youth Games / Winter Games / Para Games (medal/position up to 3rd place).
- 5th: Represented State Schools in National sports/games for Schools (medal/position up to 3rd place).
- 6th: Represented State/UT/University/State Schools at above levels but without medal/position, in same order.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will appear before the selection committee for verification of attested photocopies and Forms. Original documents must be brought. Candidates already employed must submit NOC from present employer.
- Ground/Field Proficiency Test: Candidates shortlisted after document verification will be called for Ground/Field Proficiency Test to evaluate proficiency in respective Sports/Games.
- Data Entry Skill Test (for TA only): Candidates shortlisted for Tax Assistant (TA) must qualify the Data Entry Skill Test @ 8000 key depressions per hour.
- Final Selection: Final selection will be made strictly in Order of Merit based on evaluation of best sports performances from 01.01.2022 to 30.06.2026 and marks at Ground/Field Proficiency Test.
- Tie-breaking: In case of tie, higher sporting achievement during 01.01.2022–30.06.2026 is preferred; if still tied, more cumulative medals during the same period decides.
