Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Application Shortlisting: Applications are shortlisted based on cumulative percentage of marks obtained up to the final semester/year in the respective Engineering stream. A cut-off percentage is applied for each stream. Final year appearing candidates are provisionally allowed to appear in SSB subject to meeting cumulative percentage conditions.
- SSB Interview (Service Selection Board): Shortlisted candidates are called to one of the Selection Centres: Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), or Jalandhar (Punjab). The SSB is a five-day process consisting of two stages:
- Stage 1: Screening test. Candidates who fail Stage 1 are returned on the same day.
- Stage 2: Candidates who clear Stage 1 proceed to Stage 2 (psychological tests, group tasks, interview, etc.).
- Medical Examination: Candidates recommended after Stage 2 undergo a medical examination. Validity of SSB medical is 270 days from SMB to PCTA joining date.
- Merit List: A merit list is prepared engineering stream/subject-wise based on SSB marks. In case of tie in SSB marks, older candidate ranks higher. If both SSB marks and age are equal, higher percentage in degree is considered.
- Joining Letter: Candidates in the merit list within stipulated stream-wise vacancies and declared medically fit are issued Joining Letters for pre-commissioning training at PCTA (Officers Training Academy, Gaya, Bihar), subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.
