Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- No Written Test: There shall be no written test for selection.
- Merit-Based Selection: Selection shall be on the basis of percentage of marks in descending order (aggregate of marks of all subjects of all years/semesters) obtained in the prescribed qualification applicable to the trade/discipline applied for.
- Preference: Preference shall be given to candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.
- Tie-Breaking: In case of a tie in percentage of marks, the date of birth (senior by age) shall be the deciding factor. If date of birth is also the same, the candidate with a higher percentage of marks in Matriculation shall be considered.
- PwBD Candidates: Candidates belonging to PwBD categories who have availed relaxation in eligibility qualification marks will be considered against reserved seats, irrespective of their position in the select list (in order of merit within the category).
- Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted on the basis of merit list shall be called for Document Verification. Tentative date: 27-08-2026 to 03-09-2026.
- Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness: Only those candidates declared fit in the pre-engagement medical examination shall be considered for engagement as apprentice.
- Final Offer: Finally shortlisted candidates whose documents including pre-engagement medical fitness certificate are found in order shall be issued an offer of engagement.

- Training Period: 12 months for most trades; 15 months for Secretarial Assistant (Code 108).
- No Employment Obligation: Upon completion of apprenticeship, the Corporation has NO obligation to offer employment, nor can an apprentice claim right for employment.
- No HRA/Accommodation: No HRA or Company accommodation shall be provided to apprentices.
- Leave: General Leave – 32 days (8 days per quarter); Casual Leave – 12 days per calendar year (pro-rata); Holidays as observed at the establishment.
- Insurance: Apprentices shall be covered under suitable Accident Insurance Coverage.
- Safety Equipment: Apprentices selected against Codes 101, 102, 104, 105, 106 & 107 shall be provided one pair of safety shoes and a Helmet (returnable upon completion of training), wherever applicable.
- Minimum Marks: Minimum 50% marks in aggregate in prescribed qualification (45% for SC and PwBD candidates for reserved seats). ITI qualification requires pass marks only.
- Ineligible Candidates: Candidates holding B.E./B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA or equivalent; candidates who completed qualification more than 5 years ago; candidates with 1 year or more job experience after qualification (for Engineering Graduate/Diploma/Vocational Certificate holders); candidates with part-time/correspondence/distance education qualifications are NOT eligible.
