Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
For Post Nos. 813, 814, 815, 816 & 817 (Technical Assistant / Technician ‘B’ / Draughtsman ‘B’):
- Written Test: 90 minutes duration, 80 multiple choice questions (1 mark each correct answer, -0.33 marks for each wrong answer). Syllabus is curriculum-based covering theoretical and practical knowledge. Pass criteria: Unreserved – 32/80; Reserved (for reserved posts) – 24/80.
- Skill Test: Candidates shortlisted in 1:5 ratio (minimum 10 candidates) based on written test performance. Purely on ‘go-no-go’ basis; marks not counted for selection. Pass criteria: Unreserved – 50/100; Reserved – 40/100.
- Final Selection: Purely based on written test scores among skill test qualifiers. In case of tie, academic scores of the notified qualification will be the tie-breaker.
For Post No. 802 (Fireman ‘A’):
- Preliminary Medical Examination (PME): Certificate from Registered Medical Practitioner (not below rank of Assistant Civil Surgeon or equivalent, Allopathy, in Government Health Services) to be submitted with application in prescribed format (Annexure-A).
- Written Test: 120 minutes duration, 80 multiple choice questions (1 mark each correct answer, -0.25 marks for each wrong answer). Syllabus: Basic Chemistry (flammable liquids & gases), LPG Properties, Pressure-Volume-Temperature relations, Areas (triangle, rectangle, parallelogram), Volumes (cylinder, cone, sphere, cuboid), Properties of CO2, O2, H2, Inert gases, Basic electricity concepts & hazards, Properties of water, General Knowledge.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates shortlisted in maximum 1:50 ratio based on written test marks (meeting PME norms). Stage-1 PET followed by Stage-2 PET. Purely on ‘go-no-go’ basis. Candidates failing any event are disqualified. Participation at candidate’s own risk; no compensation for injury/disability/death.
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Candidates qualifying Stage 1 & 2 PET undergo DME. Only one chance provided. Final selection panel drawn in order of written test marks from DME qualifiers.

- Initial place of posting will be in LPSC Units at Valiamala (near Thiruvananthapuram) or Bengaluru as mentioned against each post; incumbents are liable to be posted in any ISRO/Department of Space Unit/Centre anywhere in India.

- Post No. 815 (Bengaluru): The post is reserved for PWBD-MD (Backlog Vacancy) – categories LV, HH, OA, OL, OAL, Dw, LC, CP, OH.
- Post No. 816: Out of 09 posts, 02 posts are reserved for Ex-Servicemen. Out of 05 Valiamala posts, 01 post is reserved for PWBD (HH).
- If PWBD-MD candidates are not available, other categories of PWBD candidates will be considered; if still unavailable, vacancy will be filled with UR candidates.
- Written Test and Skill Test will be conducted at suitable venues in Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) only.
- No Travelling Allowance for attending written test. Outstation candidates called for Skill Test/PET will be paid to-and-fro Second Class Railway/bus fare by shortest route on production of ticket (if not availing Indian Railways concession).
- Candidates working in Central/State Government, PSUs, Autonomous bodies must apply under intimation to their employer and produce No Objection Certificate to attend written/skill test/PET.
- Original documents must be produced for verification at the time of Skill Test; failure to do so will result in disqualification and no TA.
