Selection Procedure

- Preliminary Examination (Prarambhik Pariksha): OMR/CBT based. Total 120 questions, 2 hours duration. Subjects: General Studies (30), Jharkhand State Knowledge (60), General Mathematics (10), General Science (10), Mental Ability (10). Each question carries 3 marks; 1 mark deducted for wrong answer. If total applicants are less than 50,000, Preliminary Exam may be skipped and candidates directly called for Main Exam.
- Main Examination (Mukhya Pariksha): Three papers, each 2 hours (Paper-3 is 2 hours 30 minutes):
– Paper 1 (Language Knowledge): Hindi (60 Qs) + English (60 Qs) = 120 Qs. Qualifying only (minimum 30% aggregate required).
– Paper 2 (Tribal/Regional Language): 100 Qs from chosen language. Minimum 30% required.
– Paper 3 (Technical/Special Subject & General Knowledge): 150 Qs (Technical/Special Subject: 100, General Studies: 20, General Science: 20, General Mathematics: 10). Minimum 30% in Technical/Special Subject required. - Merit List: Based on combined marks of Paper 2 and Paper 3 (Normalised scores). Minimum qualifying marks: Unreserved/EWS: 40%, SC/ST/Women: 32%, EBC-I: 34%, BC-II: 36.5%, Primitive Tribe: 30%.
- Document Verification: After merit list preparation, shortlisted candidates will be called for certificate verification.
