Selection will be made by Jharkhand Public Service Commission through Interview based on the merit list prepared by adding marks obtained in academic qualifications and interview, as per Jharkhand Medical Education Service (Appointment, Promotion and Service Conditions) Rules, 2018 (Chapter-4 and Annexure ‘B’).
Marks Distribution (Total Marks):
- Three MBBS University Examination Marks (Total): Scored on percentage basis (above 70%=5, above 65%=4, above 60%=3, above 55%=2, above 50%=1 marks each for Part I, II, III)
- Marks in Applied Specialty Subject/Group (as per MCI recommendation): Scored on percentage basis (above 70%=5, above 65%=4, above 60%=3, above 55%=2, above 50%=1)
- M.D./M.S. or equivalent qualification recognized by MCI in Specialty: 10 marks
- Ph.D./D.M./M.Ch. in the same Specialty: 10 marks
- Interview: 06 marks
- Work Experience in Government Sector (2 marks per year, maximum 10 marks): 10 marks
- Publications in Jharkhand State Medical Journal (max 2 marks, 1 mark per publication): Up to 2 marks
- Publications in All India Medical Journal (official organ of All India Society/Association) or Foreign Medical Journal (official organ of equivalent national/international society) (max 10 marks, 2 marks per publication): Up to 10 marks
Minimum Qualifying Marks: A candidate must obtain a minimum of 18 marks to be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor.
Note: As per Jharkhand Medical Education Service (Appointment, Promotion and Service Conditions) (Second Amendment) Rules, 2021, first preference for appointment will be given to doctors working in Jharkhand State Health Service who fulfill NMC standards. - Superannuation Age: 67 Years
- Colleges: Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College Dhanbad, MGM Medical College Jamshedpur, Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hazaribagh, Medinirai Medical College Palamu, and Phulo-Jhano Medical College Dumka.
- Reservation: Benefits of reservation are available only to permanent residents of Jharkhand State. Women migrated to Jharkhand from other states on the basis of marriage are not entitled to reservation benefits in the migrated state.
- Caste Certificate: Must be issued by competent authority of Jharkhand State in the prescribed format. Central Government format caste certificates are NOT acceptable.
