Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Selection will be made on deputation (Foreign Service) basis, including short-term contract basis.
- Applications received through proper channel, complete in all respects, along with attested ACR/APAR copies for the last 5 years and Vigilance/Cadre Clearance/Integrity Certificate will be considered.
- The number of vacancies may be decreased or increased at the discretion of the Competent Authority, LPAI.
- For short-term contract: Where the Authority is unable to get suitable officers on deputation, vacancies may be filled by short-term contract employment for a maximum period of six months at a time, from amongst officers retired from analogous posts and below the age of 65 years with suitable qualifications and experience.

Other Important Information
About LPAI: The Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) is a statutory body set up under the LPAI Act 2010 for development and management of Land Ports / Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) at various locations on international land borders of India.
Period of Deputation:
- Three years for the post of Port Executive.
- Five years for all remaining posts.
- Period of deputation includes period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department in the Central Government.
- For Under Secretary and Port Administrator: Initial period of five years, extendable up to seven years on yearly basis subject to prior approval of the lending organisation.
ICP Posting Locations: Selected officers/officials for ICP posts will be liable to be posted at any of the ICPs located at Attari, Jogbani, Raxaul, Agartala, Dawki, Petrapole, Moreh, Rupaidiha, Sabroom, Suturkandi, Dera Baba Nanak, Srimantpur, Mankachar, Darranga, Golakganj, and upcoming ICPs at Sonauli, Bhitbamore, etc., or at the place as decided by Competent Authority.
GPRA: LPAI is an eligible office for GPRA (only for Central Govt. Employees).
Terms & Conditions: Deputation will be subject to various circulars of DOP&T on the subject and especially the terms and conditions of deputation as stipulated in DOP&T’s OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17.06.2010 and subsequent amendments.
No Claim for Regular Appointment: The appointment will not bestow on the appointee on deputation any claim for regular appointment.
