- Punjabi Language Test (Qualifying): Candidates must pass a Punjabi Language written test at Matriculation level with a minimum of 50% marks. Failure to secure 50% will disqualify the candidate.
- Physical Eligibility Test (Qualifying): Candidates must pass a Physical Eligibility Test comprising 5 components. A candidate must successfully complete at least 3 out of 5 components to qualify.
- Male: (a) 30m Flying Start ≤5 sec, (b) Standing Broad Jump ≥1.40m, (c) Shuttle Run 6x10m ≤17.50 sec, (d) Bend & Reach ≥2cm, (e) 1600m Run ≤8 min
- Female: (a) 30m Flying Start ≤5.80 sec, (b) Standing Broad Jump ≥1.20m, (c) Shuttle Run 6x10m ≤18.50 sec, (d) Bend & Reach ≥2cm, (e) 1600m Run ≤9 min 30 sec
- Note: Divyang (Persons with Disability) candidates are exempted from the Physical Eligibility Test.
- Written Test (Departmental): A state-level objective multiple choice written test of 70 marks in the relevant subject.
- Merit List: Final merit is based on combined score out of 100 marks:
- Written Test: Maximum 70 Marks
- Sports Achievement (Gradation): Maximum 30 Marks (Grade A=30, Grade B=25, Grade C=10, Grade D=5)
- Tie-breaking: In case of equal marks, the older candidate gets preference. If age is also equal, the candidate with higher percentage in professional degree/qualification gets preference.
- Sports Quota: For candidates applying under sports quota, Punjab Sportsmen Recruitment Rules, 1988 shall apply; sports achievement weightage does not affect sports quota candidates.

- Total Vacancies: 2000 posts of PTI (Primary Cadre) under School Education Department, Punjab.
- Vacancies Reserved for Women: 650 out of 2000 posts are reserved for women across categories.
- Probation Period: 3 years.
- Pay Scale: Rs. 29,200/- per month (without any allowance) as per Punjab State Elementary Education (PTI) Service Rules, 2023 and First Amendment Rules, 2025.
- Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025): 18 to 37 years (General); SC/BC: 5 years relaxation in upper age; Punjab/Other State/Central Govt employees: up to 45 years; Widows/Divorced Women of Punjab: up to 40 years; Persons with Disability (Punjab residents): 10 years relaxation; Ex-Servicemen: Military service deducted from age, residual age should not exceed upper limit by more than 3 years.
- Punjabi Language Requirement: Candidate must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a subject, and must pass the Punjabi Language qualifying test with minimum 50% marks.
- Reservation: Benefits available only to permanent residents of Punjab. SC reservation as per Punjab SC & BC (Reservation in Services) Act, 2006. BC certificate valid till candidate does not fall under creamy layer. EWS certificate must be issued in 2026-27 based on income of financial year 2025-26.
- Ex-Serviceman: Fee exemption only for ex-servicemen (self) who were not discharged before completion of normal service period or on own request. Dependents of ex-servicemen must pay the required fee and submit LDC at scrutiny.
- Sports Quota: Gradation certificate issued by Director Sports Punjab required at scrutiny.
- Physically Handicapped: Disability certificate showing 40% permanent/partial disability of upper or lower limbs, issued by Civil Surgeon or authorized Medical Officer, required at scrutiny. Certificate must mention fitness for civil employment.
- Application Form: Once submitted and approved, no changes will be allowed. Candidate is solely responsible for any errors in the form.
