Selection Procedure

- Phase 1 – Preliminary Written Exam (Objective Type): 100 marks, 2 hours duration. - Aadhaar Registration: Aadhaar registration is mandatory for all candidates. Aadhaar-based multi-level biometric verification is mandatory at the time of exam entry and during the exam.
- Domicile: Candidates who are not domicile of Madhya Pradesh can only apply under Unreserved/Open category. No reservation or age relaxation benefits will be given to non-MP domicile candidates. Maximum age for non-MP domicile candidates is 33 years.
- Children Restriction: Candidates with more than 2 living children, where one was born on or after 26 January 2001, are not eligible for appointment.
- Probation Period: Selected candidates will be on probation for 3 years. Stipend: 70% in 1st year, 80% in 2nd year, 90% in 3rd year of minimum pay scale.
- Service Obligation: Selected candidates must serve at least 5 years in the allotted unit before being eligible for transfer. Candidates will not be posted to their home district.
- Naxal-affected areas: Subedar and Sub Inspector recruited will be eligible for promotion only after 2 years of service in Naxal-affected areas.
- Bonus Marks (5%): Additional 5% of marks will be given to certain categories (e.g., war widows’ dependents, ex-servicemen, NCC ‘C’ certificate holders, etc.) as per GAD order. Applicable only for Phase 1 Preliminary Exam.
- Reservation: Vertical reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS; Horizontal reservation: 35% for Women, 15% for Police Department employees (with min 6 years service), 10% for Ex-Servicemen.
