Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Selection will be based on inter-seniority with reference to the year of passing and merit within that year.
- Priority will be given to SCCL/Retired Employee Children and PAF/PDF candidates as per prevailing practice.
- Local, Caste, and EWS reservations will be followed as per SCCL’s extent policy. Vacant slots in reserved categories will be diverted to the open category.
- Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of AI, Systems, MS Office, and MS Excel.
- The selection process for the First (1st) batch will begin from the first week of September 2026 after scrutiny at MVTCs.
- Final posting will be based on vacancies and area preferences chosen by the candidate.

- Open a Union Bank of India (UBI) account at any SCCL salary disbursing branch, complete Aadhaar linking and e-KYC, and enable Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
- Submit the duly signed portal-generated application printout along with NATS 2.0 registration form, certificate copies (Provisional Certificate & Consolidated Marks Memo), and UBI bank account first page at the nearest Area GVTC/MVTC from 06.08.2026 12PM to 16.08.2026 5PM.
- Opt into the Union Bank of India Rs.30 Lakhs Group Accidental Insurance Policy by paying approximately Rs.750/- premium for the one-year training period.

Other Important Information
- Training Duration: One year (12 months) under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Apprenticeship will be automatically terminated upon completion.
- Stipend: Rs.12,300/- per month for Engineering/Non-Engineering Graduates and Rs.10,900/- per month for Diploma Holders. Stipend is shared equally: 50% by SCCL and 50% by BOAT (Southern Region)/NATS 2.0, MoE, GoI, credited directly via DBT into the apprentice’s Aadhaar-enabled bank account.
- Bank Account: Candidates must open a Union Bank of India (UBI) account at any SCCL salary disbursing branch, complete Aadhaar linking, e-KYC, and enable DBT. SCCL is not responsible for non-payment of stipend if Aadhaar is not linked.
- Insurance: Selected candidates must opt into the UBI Rs.30 Lakhs Group Accidental Insurance Policy by paying approximately Rs.750/- premium.
- No Employment Right: The offer of Apprenticeship does not confer any right of employment in SCCL. There is no quota/preference for SCCL apprentices in selection for regular jobs.
- Eligibility: Candidates who passed their qualifying examination in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 only are eligible. Candidates who passed in other years will be rejected.
- Termination: Training will be terminated for unauthorized absence of more than 20 consecutive days or cumulative absenteeism of 40 days. Minimum 240 musters attendance required for Apprenticeship certificate.
- No TA/DA: No Travelling Allowance or Daily Allowance is admissible for joining the Apprenticeship.
- Branches Available: Engineering Graduates: Mining (40), EEE (35), ECE (10), CSE (10), IT (5), Mechanical (35), Civil (15). Non-Engineering Graduates: BA (25), B.Sc (30), B.Com (25), BBA (5), BCA (5), B.Pharmacy (10). Diploma: Mining (20), EEE (10), Mechanical (10), Civil (10).
- Hard Copy Mandatory: If the hard copy of the application is not submitted at MVTC for scrutiny/verification, the candidate will not be considered.
- NATS & SCCL Portal Consistency: Candidates must use the same email ID and mobile number on both NATS and SCCL portals. Name, Father’s/Mother’s name, Date of Birth, and year of passing must match across all documents.
- Slots are Tentative: Slots may be diverted to other branches depending on the number of applications received. Management reserves the right to increase/decrease slots or extend deadlines.
