Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:

Scrutiny of Applications: Applications will be scrutinized and shortlisted based on Job Specifications.
Screening Test (if required): Management reserves the right to conduct a screening test to restrict the number of candidates for Personal Interview. The screening test shall be qualifying in nature (50% for UR/EWS/ESM and 40% for reserved categories) and will be for elimination purpose only with no weightage in final merit.
Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification.
Personal Interview: Final selection shall be done based on marks secured in the Personal Interview only. Qualifying marks in interview: 50% for UR/EWS/ESM and 40% for SC/ST/PwBD/OBC(NCL). Candidates may appear in Hindi or English.
Empanelment: Candidates qualifying in Personal Interview will be empanelled. Offer of appointment shall be issued in order of category-wise merit based on requirement.
Medical Fitness: Joining in SJVN will be subject to Medical Fitness as per extant medical rules of SJVN.

Other Important Information

SJVN Limited is a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, incorporated on May 24, 1988.
Recruitment is for its fully owned subsidiary STPL executing 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project in Bihar.
Minimum marks: 50% for SC/ST/PwBD and 55% for other categories. Rounding of percentage is not acceptable.
Age relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC(NCL) – 3 years; PwBD (UR/EWS) – 10 years; PwBD (OBC NCL) – 13 years; PwBD (SC/ST) – 15 years; J&K domicile (01.01.80 to 31.12.89) – 5 years; Ex-servicemen as per GoI guidelines. Upper age limit inclusive of all relaxations shall not exceed 55 years.
In addition to Basic Pay & IDA, posts carry allowances @35% of Basic Pay under Cafeteria Approach, HRA/Company leased Accommodation, CPF, Conveyance Reimbursement, Leave Encashment, Performance Related Pay, Medical Facility, Gratuity, Contributory Pension, etc.
Teaching experience/Internship/Apprenticeship/Pre-qualification experience will not be counted as experience. Period of Sabbatical Leave and Extra Ordinary Leave will also not be counted.
Candidates from Govt./PSU organizations must produce NOC at the time of interview.
OBC (NCL) certificate must be issued in FY 2026-27 or within 6 months at the time of interview.
Candidates selected in SJVN are liable to be posted anywhere in India and Abroad.
Shortlisted candidates will be reimbursed 2nd Class AC Sleeper Rail/Bus Fare by shortest route for attending interview.
For SC/ST candidates, relaxation in total length of experience by one year where experience requirement is more than three years.
Number of posts are tentative and can be changed at the absolute discretion of SJVN Management.
All legal proceedings shall be subject to jurisdiction of courts/tribunals/forums at Shimla only.
Internal candidates possessing AMIE qualification in respective disciplines are also eligible. There is no age bar for Internal Applicants.
Minimum Annual Turnover requirement for private sector candidates: Rs. 2500 crore (average audited annual turnover of three preceding financial years).
