Junior Hindi Translator
- No. of Vacancies: 09 (UR-6, OBC-2, SC-1)
- Qualification: Master's degree from a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master's degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at degree level; OR Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject; OR Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject; OR Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects; AND Recognized Diploma or Certificate Course in translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa OR two years' experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in Central/State Government office including Government of India Undertaking.

Selection Procedure

- Selection for the post of Junior Hindi Translator shall be based on a Written Examination consisting of two papers.
- Paper-I (Objective Type): Part-I: General Hindi (100 Questions/100 Marks) and Part-II: General English (100 Questions/100 Marks). Duration: 2 Hours (with Sectional timer of 1 Hr for each part). Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer applies.
- Paper-II (Descriptive): Translation & Essay – 200 Marks. Duration: 2 Hours. Contains passages for translation (Hindi to English and English to Hindi) and an Essay in both Hindi and English.
- Based on marks scored in Paper-I, candidates will be shortlisted category-wise to appear in Paper-II.
- For final merit, weightage will be 50% of scores in Paper-I and 100% of marks in Paper-II.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks in Paper-I: UR: 50%, OBC: 45%, SC: 40%.
- Minimum Marks for Final Selection/Merit: General: 50%, OBC: 45%, SC: 40%.
- Examination Centre: Delhi/NCR & Bengaluru.
- Tie Resolution: (i) Marks in Paper-II, (ii) Date of Birth (older candidate placed higher), (iii) Alphabetical order of names.
