Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
Stage I: NORCET Preliminary (Online CBT)
- Duration: 90 minutes
- 100 MCQs of 100 marks (20 MCQs on General Knowledge & Aptitude + 80 MCQs on Nursing syllabus)
- Negative marking: 1/3 marks for each wrong answer
- Question paper divided into 5 sections of 18 minutes each (20 questions per section)
- Qualifying marks: 50 percentile for UR/EWS, 45 percentile for OBC, 40 percentile for SC/ST; PwBD gets additional 5 percentile relaxation
- This is a qualifying stage only; marks will NOT be used for final merit/rank
- Candidates qualifying Stage I equal to 5 times the total seats in each category will be called for Stage II
Stage II: NORCET Mains (Online CBT)
- Duration: 180 minutes
- 160 MCQs of 160 marks (case scenario-based questions testing nursing skills competency)
- Negative marking: 1/3 marks for each wrong answer
- Question paper divided into 4 sections of 45 minutes each (40 questions per section)
- Qualifying marks: 50% for UR/EWS, 45% for OBC, 40% for SC/ST; PwBD gets additional 5% relaxation

- Merit list prepared based on Stage II NORCET Mains performance only
- Choices/preferences invited from qualified candidates for participating institutes
- One round of seat allocation based on merit and candidate preferences

- Applicants registered under OTR (One Time Registration) in any previous examination must apply using their old ID/OTR registration.

- PwBD Eligibility: Post identified for OL, AAV, Dw and LC(OL) categories with benchmark disability of 40% or more. Scribe and compensatory time (20 minutes per hour) available for eligible PwBD candidates.
- Experience Certificate: Must be from Head of Organization/Department, clearly mentioning number of beds, duration of employment, basic/consolidated pay, and nature of duties performed.
- Examination Centres: Cities all over India. No request for change of allocated examination centre will be entertained.
