For Technical Assistant:
- Trade Test (Qualifying): Candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria will be invited for a Trade Test in the relevant area/discipline. This is qualifying in nature.
- Written Examination (Competitive): Candidates qualifying the Trade Test will appear for a written examination consisting of three papers:
- Paper-I (1 hour, Qualifying): Mental Ability Test – 50 Questions, 100 Marks (2 marks each), No Negative Marking.
- Paper-II (30 minutes): General Awareness (25 Qs, 75 Marks) + English Language (25 Qs, 75 Marks) – 3 marks per correct answer, -1 for wrong answer.
- Paper-III (90 minutes): Concerned Subject – 100 Questions, 300 Marks (3 marks each), -1 for wrong answer.
- Paper-II and Paper-III will be evaluated only for candidates securing minimum threshold marks in Paper-I.
- Final merit list will be based on performance in Paper-II and Paper-III.
- Mode: OMR-based or Computer-Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination.
- Medium: English and Hindi (except English Language questions).

- Venue: Trade Test/Skill Test and Written Exam will be held at Nagpur and/or any city of CSIR-NEERI Regional Centre.
