- Stage 1 – Preliminary MCQ Examination: Used for shortlisting candidates only; does not carry weightage in final merit. 100 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes. Subjects: General Knowledge/General Studies (20Q/40M), Reasoning (20Q/40M), General Mathematical Ability (20Q/40M), Administration of Higher Educational Institutions (40Q/80M). Each correct answer: 2 marks; Negative marking: 0.5 mark per incorrect answer.
- Stage 2 – Descriptive Main Examination: 200 marks, 2 hours. Subjects: Educational Administration and Management; Rules and their application in Higher Educational Institutions. Final merit is based on Main Examination performance.
- Qualifying Skill Test: Maximum 100 marks, minimum qualifying marks 50. Qualifying in nature only (does not add to merit). Assesses office procedures, noting and drafting, computer operations, and typing proficiency (English 35 WPM or Hindi 30 WPM for Assistant post).
- Document Verification: Verification of educational qualifications, experience, reservation claims and other supporting documents.
Note: PwBD candidates receive 20 minutes of compensatory time per hour. Eligible contractual/ad hoc employees of DU and its colleges may receive up to 10 additional marks (1 mark per year of service) in preliminary and final merit, subject to notified conditions.
