- Viva-voce Test (Oral Interview) [50 Marks]: Tentatively in August/September 2026. Minimum 50% marks required to be included in the Select List.
- Final Selection: Merit-based Select List prepared on aggregate marks of Written Test and Viva-voce Test.

- Basis of Appointment: Purely on Contractual Basis, initially for 11 months, extendable up to a further maximum of 11 months only, subject to approval of the Hon’ble Chief Justice.
- Reservation: Reservation policy shall NOT apply as appointments are on contractual basis.
- Termination: Appointment may be terminated by either side with one month’s notice or one month’s salary in lieu thereof. The High Court may terminate without notice if services are unsatisfactory or rules are violated.
- Duties: Assist the Hon’ble Judge in judicial and administrative work, legal research, attending court, making notes, drafting memoranda, opinions, comments, and monographs on legal matters.
- Conditions of Service: Full-time assignment; Legal Assistant cannot practice as a lawyer or take up any other employment during tenure. Entitled to 11 days casual leave per year. May be required to work on public/weekly holidays with compensatory holidays. Headquarters shall be the High Court.
- Post-Appointment Restriction: Legal Assistant shall not appear before the Hon’ble Judge to whom he/she was attached for one year from the date of termination of appointment.
- Existing Legal Assistants: Existing Legal Assistants holding appointment orders for 11 months or more pursuant to earlier recruitment processes are NOT eligible to apply.
- Application Fee: Rs. 500/- plus bank charges via SBI e-Pay on HC-OJAS Portal.
- RTI: No RTI applications regarding this recruitment will be entertained until completion of the entire recruitment process.
