Other Important Information
- Engagement is purely temporary on a contract basis, initially for a period of one year and renewable annually up to a maximum duration of five years, based on satisfactory performance and requirements of the Institute.
- For candidates previously employed at IISc through appointments made by the HR Department, the duration of their prior service will be counted in the maximum permissible tenure of five years.
- Age relaxation as per GoI norms (if applicable) will be extended as on the last date of receipt of the application.
- Candidates with less than 2 years of post-Ph.D. experience will also be considered for Instructor positions with revised designations and salaries: Ph.D. (Fresher) – Research Associate I at Rs. 58,000/- + HRA p.m.; Ph.D. + 1 year post-Ph.D. experience – Research Associate II at Rs. 61,000/- + HRA p.m.
- Candidates with more than 8 years of post-Ph.D. experience may be considered for Senior Instructor (age limit: 38 years) at Rs. 1,02,000/- + HRA p.m.
- The salary for selected candidates shall be recommended by the Dean (UG) based on the recommendations of the respective selection committee.
- Except for the consolidated and fixed emoluments mentioned in the advertisement, no other benefits will be extended.
- The contract can be terminated at any time by giving one month’s notice, by either side.
- Engagement on a contract basis would be subject to medical fitness.
- Only Indian nationals need to apply.
- No accommodation will be provided on the Institute campus.
