Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Selection will be based on merit list prepared on the basis of marks scored in the specified educational qualification.
- Candidates must be medically fit as declared by IREL (India) Limited’s Medical Officer.
- In case of a tie, higher marks in the specified educational qualification will be considered; if still tied, seniority in date of birth will be applied.
- Priority Order for Selection:
- Candidates belonging to Land Affected Category (certificate from Resources Department required).
- Candidates from Mining area and peripheral villages within 10 KM radius of IREL (India) Limited, Chavara unit.
- Wards of serving employees/Forum members.
- Candidates belonging to Kollam District.

- Fill the application form (Annexure A) preferably type-written on A4 size paper.
- Superscribe the outer cover: “APPLICATION FOR ENGAGEMENT OF APPRENTICE AGAINST NOTIFICATION NO. IREL(India) Limited Chavara/Apprentices Engagement/2026-27 dated 12-10-2026”.
- Attach self-attested photocopies of: 10th pass/Matriculation/Birth certificate, 10th/HSC Mark sheet, SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/Disability certificates (if applicable), Income and Assets Certificate (for EWS), Semester/year-wise mark sheets and Pass certificate, Documentary proof for Land Affected/Mining area candidates, Nativity Certificate, Aadhaar Card, and passport size photograph.

- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD will be applicable as per the prescribed percentage applicable to the State of Kerala.
- Candidates with qualifications acquired through Distance Learning, Part Time, or Correspondence Mode are NOT eligible.
- Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any Govt./Public Sector/Private Industrial Organization are NOT eligible.
- Candidates can apply for ONE Trade ONLY.
- Candidates must have an active email ID and Mobile Number valid till the end of Apprenticeship and 1 year thereafter.
- Candidates with higher/professional qualifications such as ME/M.Tech, MCA, MBA, MSc, MA, M.Com, CA/ICWA, PhD, LL.B (except for AAO(P)) need not apply.
- IREL (India) Limited has NO obligation to offer regular employment to Apprentices after completion of the apprenticeship period.
- The period of training is 1 year for all trades (except AAO(P) which is 1.5 years).
- Stipend will be as prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
- No other benefit or financial assistance will be provided during training.
