1. Competitive Examination (Offline – OMR Type):
- The examination will be conducted offline (OMR type) at Bengaluru Centre only.
- Paper-I (General Knowledge): 100 Questions, 2 Hours, Maximum Marks: 300, Minimum Marks: 105. Topics: Current Affairs, General Science, History & Geography of Karnataka, Social Science, General Intellectual Ability, Public Administration & Rural Development, Environmental Science & Logical Thinking.
- Paper-II (Legal/Technical): 100 Questions, 2 Hours, Maximum Marks: 300, Minimum Marks: 105. Topics: Legal Services Authorities Act 1987, KSLSA Rules 1996, KSLSA Regulations 1997, Karnataka Civil Services Rules, Karnataka Financial Code 1958, Constitution of India, CPC 1908, Bharatiya Nagarika Suraksha Sanhita 2023, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023, General Knowledge in Kannada Language.
2. Negative Valuation:
- 1/4th (0.75) marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- In the OMR Sheet, a fifth option/circle is provided for unanswered questions. If no option is shaded, 0.75 marks will be deducted.
- An additional 05 minutes will be given after the last bell to shade the fifth option.
3. Interview (Viva-Voce):
- Candidates successful in the Competitive Examination will be called for Interview in the ratio of 1:5 in each reserved category.
- Maximum Marks: 25, Minimum Marks: 13.
4. Probation: Selected candidates will be on probation for 2 years or such extended period.

- This recruitment is subject to the final outcome of Writ Petition No. 200448/2025 c/w 17968/2025 and 3145/2023 pending before the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka.
- Applications already filed pursuant to the earlier notification shall be treated as applications under the present notification (subject to prescribed qualifications). Such applicants need not file a fresh application.
- If any applicant is found to be age-barred, their application will be rejected and the application fee will be refunded.
- Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- Candidates must be Indian citizens.
- There shall be no pending criminal case against the candidate.
- Candidates permanently debarred from any examination/recruitment by Central/State PSC, KEA, or any University are not eligible.
- The selected candidate appointed to the post of Section Officer will be posted in the office of KSLSA or any of the District Legal Services Authorities in the State.
- Selected candidates who have not passed Kannada as First/Second Language in SSLC must pass the Kannada Language Departmental Examination conducted by KPSC before completing the probation period.
- Candidates must produce original documents at the time of Interview/Verification. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of reservation; the application will be considered under General Merit only if otherwise eligible.
