- Tenure of Posting: All appointments except for Residents shall be on a contract basis initially for a period of 4 years including a probationary period of one year, which could be extended by one more year at the discretion of the Director. A review will be carried out at the end of 3 years to assess the suitability of candidate for further extension or termination.
- The tenure of Senior Residents will be of 3 years.
- The tenure of Emergency Medical Officers will be of 1 year.
- Publication Requirements:
- Professor: First/second/corresponding author in 06 publications during tenure as Additional Professor (original articles, excluding case reports, letters to editors and review articles).
- Associate Professor: Three (3) original published papers in peer reviewed indexed journal, at least one as first author as Assistant Professor.
- Assistant Professor: Two (2) original published papers in peer reviewed indexed journal, at least one as first author.
- Vacant posts of Senior Residents will be filled from House Surgeons.
- Various posts of Professor may be filled with lower post if the candidate is not available.
- Women reservation applicable as per rules.
- Number of posts can be increased, decreased or withdrawn by the Department without any notice.
- Reservation will be subject to verification by the Welfare Department.
- In case of any dispute, the jurisdiction of court will be Chandigarh/Punjab.
