Selection Procedure

- Written Entrance Examination: OMR-based Common Entrance Examination (ANM(R) & GNM-2026) conducted by WBJEEB on 14.06.2026 (Sunday), 12:00 Noon to 01:30 PM.
- Question Paper Pattern: 100 MCQs (Total 115 marks) covering Life Science (40 Qs, 50 marks), Physical Science (20 Qs, 25 marks), Basic English (15 Qs, 15 marks), Mathematics (10 Qs, 10 marks), General Knowledge (10 Qs, 10 marks), and Logical Reasoning (5 Qs, 5 marks). Category-1 questions carry 1 mark each (negative marking: -1/4); Category-2 questions carry 2 marks each (partial marking applicable).
- Merit Ranking: Two separate merit ranks (GMR) published for ANM(R) and GNM based on scores. Tie-breaking rules applied as per section 2.7.
- Counselling/Seat Allotment: Online counselling and seat allotment based on GMR rank, subject to document verification and eligibility criteria.
- Document Verification: Conducted by allotted institutes during/after counselling. Invalid claims may result in cancellation of category rank or ineligibility.
- Medical Fitness: All admitted candidates must produce a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of admission.
- PwD Verification: PwD candidates must physically report to designated Government Medical Colleges for physical verification on a scheduled date.

- Exam Mode: OMR-based (Optical Mark Recognition). Answers to be marked with blue/black ink ballpoint pen only.
- Language of Paper: Questions in English and Bengali (except Basic English and Logical Reasoning sections).
- Syllabus: Life Science, Physical Science, Mathematics – based on 10th standard syllabus of recognised Boards/Councils in India. Basic English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning – equivalent to 12th standard curriculum.
- Negative Marking: Category-1: -1/4 mark for wrong answer. Category-2: 0 marks for any combination containing incorrect option(s); partial marks for partially correct answers.
- Domicile Requirement: Candidates must be permanent residents of West Bengal uninterruptedly for at least the last 10 years as on 31.12.2025.
- Reservation: Available for SC, ST, OBC-Category A (More Backward), OBC-Category B (Backward), EWS, PwD (40%–50% locomotor disability in lower limbs only), Orphan/Destitute Home inmates, and Civil Defence volunteers.
