Assistant Fireman (Direct Recruitment - Male Candidates Only)

- Qualification: Minimum SSC (10th Standard) Pass. Additional marks for HSC (10+2), Engineering Degree/Diploma (Automobile/Mechanical/Electrical or others), Fire Fighting courses (Elementary/Certificate/ITI/Diploma/Degree), NCC Certificate (A/B/C), Basic Computer Course (MS-Office/CCC), and voluntary service in AMC Auxiliary Task Force.
- Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 32 years (as on last date of application). Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS (original Gujarat residents); 5 years for female candidates; 10 years for PwD candidates; relaxation for AMC Auxiliary Task Force volunteers as per satisfactory service years. Maximum age limit with all relaxations shall not exceed 45 years.
- Pay Scale: Fixed Pay Rs. 26,000/- per month for 3 years; thereafter Level-2, Pay Matrix Rs. 19,900 - 63,200 (Basic + other allowances as per rules)
Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Physical Standard Test: Candidates must meet minimum physical requirements: Height ≥ 165 cm, Weight ≥ 50 kg, Chest (normal) 76 cm / (expanded) ≥ 81 cm (minimum 5 cm expansion). - Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Four events with minimum qualifying standards: Long Jump ≥ 3.80 m, High Jump ≥ 1.0 m, 800m Run ≤ 200 seconds, 200m Swimming ≤ 300 seconds. Candidates must score minimum 10 marks (qualifying standard) in each event and a total of at least 40% (160 out of 400 marks) across all four events. Performance scoring is on a scale of 10 to 100 marks per event.
- Merit List Preparation: Marks from PET combined with marks from Educational Qualifications (SSC marks, additional qualifications, fire-related courses, NCC, computer course, voluntary service experience) are totalled to prepare a merit list, which is submitted to the Staff Selection Committee.
- Medical Examination: Selected candidates will undergo a medical examination by a designated medical officer before joining. Candidates found unfit for fireman duties will be disqualified.
- Training: Selected candidates must undergo 6 months of training as determined by the Municipal Commissioner and pass the training examination.
- Final Appointment: Subject to Staff Selection Committee / Municipal Commissioner’s decision, which is final and binding.
