Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type): Consists of two papers:
- Paper-I: General Studies – 200 marks, 2 hours (marks counted for qualifying mains)
- Paper-II: Aptitude Test (CSAT) – 200 marks, 2 hours (qualifying in nature; minimum 33% required; marks not counted for mains)
Negative marking of 1/4 for wrong answers. Candidates must appear in both papers. About 12 times the number of advertised vacancies will be shortlisted for Mains.
- Main Examination (Written + Interview):
- Written Examination: 8 subjective type papers including English (Compulsory), Essay, General Studies I-IV, and two Optional subjects.
- English (Compulsory): Qualifying in nature; minimum 33% of 300 marks required; marks not counted for merit.
- Merit Subjects (7 papers, 1750 marks): Minimum aggregate 33% (577.50 marks) with at least 20% in each paper; for PwBD: 20% aggregate (350 marks) with at least 10% in each paper.
- Interview/Viva-Voce: 275 marks; candidates shortlisted in ratio of 1:3 of advertised vacancies.
- Physical Standards & Medical Test: Applicable for Arunachal Pradesh Police Service (APPS) candidates as per APPS Rules, 1989 (as amended).

- Before filling the Online Application Form, a candidate must mandatorily register for ONE TIME REGISTRATION (OTR) on https://appsc.gov.in.
- Those who have already registered in OTR need not register again; they can directly login using the same user ID and password.
- Candidates are required to apply online on https://appsc.gov.in. Detailed instructions for OTR and Online Application are available on the APPSC website.
- Submit only a single application. If multiple applications are submitted, the application with the highest Registration ID (RID) will be accepted. The fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID.
- The online application submission link shall be active from 1700 hours on 16th September, 2026 till 1700 hours on 20th October, 2026.
- Carefully fill all requisite details in the online application form. The application once submitted cannot be changed or updated.
- Upload scanned copies of required documents: Signature, passport size photo, Matriculation Certificate, APST Certificate, PRC, and other relevant documents as applicable.

- Must be a citizen of India and a Permanent Resident of Arunachal Pradesh holding a valid PRC.
- Must hold an Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) Certificate.
- Must be able to speak any Indigenous Tribal Language of Arunachal Pradesh.
- Age Relaxation:
- APST candidates: Up to 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.
- Defence Service Personnel (APST, disabled in operations): Up to 8 years relaxation.
- APST PwBD candidates: Up to 15 years relaxation.
- Regular Government servants: As per Govt. rules.
- PwBD Reservations: 2 posts reserved for PwBD in APCS (EG); 1 post in DIPRO; 2 posts in Assistant Section Officer category.
- Examination Centres: Bomdila, Ziro, Pasighat, Yingkiong, Tezu, Aalo, Khonsa, Yachuli, Likhabali, and others as notified. APPSC reserves the right to change centres.
- Scribe Facility: Available for PwBD candidates with Blindness, Locomotor Disability (both arms affected), and Cerebral Palsy. Other PwBD candidates may avail on production of certificate from CMO/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent.
- Compensatory Time: 20 minutes per hour for eligible PwBD candidates.
- Government Employees: Must inform their employer/controlling authority in writing before applying. NOC/intimation copy to be uploaded at DAF stage.
