Selection Procedure

- Screening: Applications received within the stipulated period will be screened by a duly constituted Screening Committee. Candidates fulfilling all eligibility criteria will be shortlisted for the Trade Test.
- Trade Test (Qualifying in Nature): Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Trade Test in the relevant trade. Candidates must qualify the Trade Test to proceed to the Written Examination.
- Written Examination (Competitive): Candidates who qualify the Trade Test will appear for a competitive written examination consisting of three papers:
- Paper-I (1 Hour) – Mental Ability Test: 50 questions, 100 marks (2 marks per correct answer), No negative marking. Qualifying in nature.
- Paper-II (30 Minutes) – General Awareness & English Language: 25 questions each (50 total), 75 marks each (3 marks per correct answer, -1 for wrong answer). Evaluated only for candidates clearing Paper-I threshold.
- Paper-III (1 Hour) – Concerned Subject/Trade: 50 questions, 150 marks (3 marks per correct answer, -1 for wrong answer). Evaluated only for candidates clearing Paper-I threshold.
- Merit List: Final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III only. Paper-I is qualifying in nature.
- Tie-Breaking: In case of tie, resolution will follow this order: (i) Higher marks in concerned subject/trade paper; (ii) Lesser negative marks in concerned subject/trade paper; (iii) Lesser negative marks in merit papers; (iv) Older date of birth; (v) Earlier acquisition of essential degree; (vi) Alphabetical order of first name.
Mode of Examination: OMR Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination.
Medium: English and Hindi (except English language questions).
Standard: SSC + ITI / XIIth Standard.
