Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Eligibility: Only candidates domicile of Kerala shall be considered.
- Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification relevant to the respective discipline.
- Tie-breaking: If two or more candidates secure the same percentage of marks, merit will be decided based on seniority in the year of passing. If the year of passing is also identical, the candidate senior in age (as per date of birth) will be given precedence.
- Certificate Verification: Shortlisted candidates must appear for certificate verification with original certificates (proof of age, qualification, percentage of marks, caste, disability if any) and self-attested copies. Failure to produce originals will result in rejection of candidature.
- Provisional Selection: Candidates who successfully complete certificate verification will be provisionally selected against notified training seats in order of merit/reservation, subject to medical fitness.
- Communication: Call letters for certificate verification will be sent via e-mail and/or published on the CSL website. No postal communication will be made.

- Training Duration: One year as per Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973.
- Previous Training: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973 in any Government, Public Sector, or Private Organisation are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
- Domicile: Only candidates domicile of Kerala are eligible.
- Year of Passing: Candidates who passed during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible.
- Reservation: Government of India directives on reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD will be strictly followed.
- Travel Expenses: No travel expenses are admissible during the apprenticeship training period.
- Boarding/Lodging: Boarding or lodging will not be provided by CSL during the apprenticeship training period.
- Employment Obligation: Upon completion of the Apprenticeship period, CSL shall have no obligation to offer employment, nor can the apprentice claim right for employment on grounds of completion of Apprenticeship.
- Application Fee: Nil (No application fee).
- Equivalency Certificate: Candidates with equivalent qualifications must submit an Equivalency Certificate issued by the competent authority; without it, candidature will not be considered.
- Marks Entry: Candidates must ensure marks are entered correctly. Any discrepancy between entered marks and uploaded mark sheet will result in summary rejection.
- Number of Seats: The number of training seats may vary depending on future requirements. CSL reserves the right to restrict/alter/cancel/modify the recruitment process.
- Legal Jurisdiction: Any legal proceedings shall be instituted only in Courts/Tribunals/Forums at Ernakulam.
