Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:

  1. Stage-I: Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination – Objective Type Papers (500 Marks total: Paper-I General Studies & Engineering Aptitude – 200 Marks, 2 hrs; Paper-II Engineering Discipline Specific – 300 Marks, 3 hrs). Negative marking of 1/3rd for wrong answers. Candidates qualifying Stage-I are eligible for Stage-II.
  2. Stage-II: Engineering Services (Main) Examination – Conventional Type Papers (600 Marks total: Paper-I – 300 Marks, 3 hrs; Paper-II – 300 Marks, 3 hrs). Papers must be answered in English only. Candidates qualifying Stage-II are summoned for Stage-III.
  3. Stage-III: Personality Test/Interview – 200 Marks. Assesses leadership, initiative, intellectual curiosity, tact, social qualities, mental and physical energy, practical application, and integrity of character.
  4. Final Merit: Based on aggregate marks of Stage-I + Stage-II + Stage-III (Personality Test/Interview). Candidates allotted to services based on rank and preferences expressed.
  5. Tie-Breaking: Resolved by marks in Engineering discipline papers, then age (senior ranked higher), then Commission’s discretion.

  4. Sign three times on plain white paper using black ink and upload the signature.
  5. Fill up the Examination Specific Module (Part-I to Part-IV) including fee payment and centre selection.
  6. Pay the examination fee of Rs. 200/- (if applicable) via net banking, Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card, or UPI Payment.
  7. Submit the application before 06.10.2026 till 06:00 P.M.
