- Only candidates who have been awarded Degree/Provisional Certificates (B.Tech. or M.Tech. as applicable) are eligible to apply.

- Award of Fellowship shall not be claimed as a matter of right; it is entirely at the discretion of the Selection Committee.
- JRF candidates may be allowed to register for part-time PhD (if selected) with any University/Institution during the tenure of fellowship upon approval of Director, DMRL.
- Those who were already in JRF positions in any DRDO laboratories/Centres earlier are NOT eligible to apply again.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or for joining, if selected.
- The post is temporary with a maximum tenure of 4 (four) years. Initially offered for 2 years, extendable for further 2 years subject to Internal Screening Committee recommendations.
- After two years, subject to satisfactory performance, JRF can be elevated to the position of SRF.
- The offer does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO under any circumstances.
- Medical facilities for self only, available in DRDO, will be extended through MI Room.
