Agriculture Development Officer (ADO) Group-A (Job Trainee)
- No. of Vacancies: 23 [UR (Ward of Ex-SM)=19 (Backlog), SC of HP (Ward of Ex-SM)=03 (Backlog), OBC of HP (Ward of Ex-SM)=01 (Backlog)]
- Qualification: Essential: B.Sc. (Agr.) under four year degree programme and M.Sc. (Agri) 2nd Class from a College/University recognized by the State/Central Government/ICAR. Desirable: M.Sc. (Agri.) 1st Class or above; Knowledge of customs, manners & dialects of Himachal Pradesh.
- Age Limit: 18 to 45 years (as on 01-01-2026). Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/WFF/Persons with Disabilities of HP. Age relaxation for HP Govt. employees and Ex-Servicemen of HP as per Government instructions.
- Pay Scale: Rs. 29,500/- per month (Fixed emoluments for Job Trainee)
Selection Procedure

- Stage 1 – Objective Type Screening Test / Descriptive Subject Aptitude Test:
- Paper-I: Computer Based Test (CBT) or Offline Screening Test of 1 hour duration, 100 marks, consisting of Objective Type MCQs with negative marking.
- General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh = 30 Marks
- General Knowledge of National and International Affairs = 30 Marks
- Knowledge of Hindi Language = 20 Marks
- Knowledge of English Language = 20 Marks
- Paper-II: Descriptive Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) of 3 hours duration, 120 marks, as per syllabus decided by the Commission.
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer, blank answer, or multiple answers.
- Minimum pass marks in SAT: 45% for General category; 40% for Reserved categories.
- Paper-I: Computer Based Test (CBT) or Offline Screening Test of 1 hour duration, 100 marks, consisting of Objective Type MCQs with negative marking.
- Stage 2 – Personality Test:
- 30 marks, held at the Commission’s office at Shimla.
- Minimum pass marks: 40% (12 marks) for General category; 30% (09 marks) for Reserved categories.
- Final ranking based on SAT (120 marks) + Personality Test (30 marks).
- If the ratio of eligible candidates to posts is 6 or below, all candidates are directly called for Personality Test.
- If the ratio is below 20, candidates appear only for Paper-II followed by Personality Test.
