Civilian Switch Board Operator (CSBO) Grade-II, Group 'C'
- No. of Vacancies: 190 (UR: 94, SC: 22, ST: 12, OBC: 43, EWS: 19, PwBD: 12, ESM: 20)
- Qualification: Matric or equivalent from recognized Board; (2) Proficiency in handling Private Board Exchange (PBX) Board (minimum 6 months experience). Desirable: Fluency in spoken English and Hindi.
- Age Limit: 18 to 25 years as on last date of receipt of application. Age Relaxation: OBC – 3 years; SC/ST – 5 years; PwBD – 10 years (additional 5 years for SC/ST PwBD, 3 years for OBC PwBD); Ex-Servicemen – 3 additional years; Departmental candidates with 3 years continuous service – up to 40 years (45 years for SC/ST).
- Pay Scale: Rs. 21,700/- + allowances (Level-3, Cell-1 as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix)
Selection Procedure

Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit in the Written Test, subject to the candidate qualifying in the Practical Test and Interview. Screening of applications may be carried out based on percentage of marks in Matriculation/Xth Board to reduce the number of candidates for the Written Examination.

- All India Service Liability: The post is subject to All India Service Liability including Field Service.
- Probation: Appointment will be on probation for 2 years, followed by permanent absorption subject to satisfactory performance.
- National Pension System: New entrants joining on or after 01 Jan 2004 are governed by the National Pension System.
- Retention Policy: Retention beyond 55 years of age or 30 years of qualifying service (whichever is applicable) will be decided by a screening committee. Retirement age is 60 years if found suitable for retention.
