Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- There is No Written Test. Selection is based on merit.
- Candidates must be registered on NAPS/NATS portal and apply against the notification.
- Selection shall be on the basis of percentage of marks in descending order (aggregate of marks of all subjects of all years/semesters) obtained in the prescribed qualification.
- Preference shall be given to candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.
- In case of a tie in percentage of marks, the date of birth (senior by age) shall be the deciding factor. If date of birth is also the same, the candidate with a higher percentage in Matriculation shall be ranked higher.
- Candidates belonging to PwBD categories who have availed relaxation in eligibility qualification marks will be considered against reserved seats, irrespective of their position in the select list (in order of merit within the category).
- Shortlisted candidates shall be called for Document Verification.
- Candidates must pass a Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness examination as per the Apprentices Act standards.
- Finally shortlisted candidates whose documents and medical fitness are found in order shall be issued an Offer of Engagement.

- Training Period: Code 101 – 12 months; Code 103 – 24 months; Code 107 – 12 months.
- No Employment Obligation: Upon completion of apprenticeship, IOCL has NO obligation to offer employment, nor can an apprentice claim employment rights.
- Stipend: As prescribed under Apprentices Act, 1961/1973/Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended) and Corporation’s guidelines.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Apprentices selected under Codes 101, 103 & 107 shall be provided one pair of safety shoes and a helmet (returnable upon completion of training).
- No HRA or Company Accommodation shall be provided to apprentices.
- Leave: General Leave – 32 days (8 days per quarter); Casual Leave – 12 days per calendar year (pro-rata); Holidays as observed at the establishment.
- Insurance: Apprentices shall be covered under suitable Accident Insurance Coverage.
- PwBD: PwBD candidates can apply only against Code 107. Minimum 40% disability certificate required. Applicable disability types: Low Vision/Blind, Hard of Hearing/Deaf, Musculoskeletal/Dwarfism/Acid Attack Victim/Cerebral Palsy/Leprosy Cured, Multiple Disabilities.
- Minimum Marks: 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates for reserved seats).
- Candidates with higher qualifications such as BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA are NOT eligible.
- Candidates with 1 year or more job experience after attaining the prescribed qualification are NOT eligible.
