Selection Procedure

Phase I:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualifying in nature (no marks awarded).
Male: 1.6 Km Race (within 7.30 min), Long Jump (11 feet, 3 chances), High Jump (3½ feet, 3 chances).
Female: 800 Mtr Race (within 4.45 min), Long Jump (9 feet, 3 chances), High Jump (3 feet, 3 chances).
Note: PET not held for Ex-Servicemen. - Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, Chest (male only), and Weight measurements as per prescribed standards.
Phase II:
- Written Examination (100 Marks): Objective type MCQs (OMR or CBT), 2 hours duration.
Subjects: General English (10), General Hindi (10), General Awareness (10), Quantitative Aptitude & Simple Reasoning (10), Psychology (60).
Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS/Ex-Servicemen – 35%; SC/ST/OBC(NCL) – 33%. No negative marking.
Phase III:
- Verification of Original Documents (Documentation): Shortlisted candidates based on written exam merit will undergo document verification.
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Candidates who qualify documentation will undergo DME.
- Review Medical Examination (RME): Candidates declared unfit in DME may appeal for RME. Decision of RME Board is final.

- Governing Rules: Selected candidates will be governed by ITBPF Act, 1992 and ITBPF Rules, 1994.
- Service Liability: Candidates shall be liable to serve anywhere in India or abroad.
