Selection Procedure

Phase I:

- Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, Chest and Weight measurements as per prescribed standards.

- Written Examination (100 Marks): Objective type MCQ (CBT or OMR based). Subjects: General Knowledge (10 marks), Mathematics (10 marks), Hindi or English (20 marks), Trade Related Theory (60 marks). Duration: 2 hours. Minimum qualifying marks: Gen/EWS/Ex-Servicemen – 35%; SC/OBC(NCL) – 33%.
Phase III:
- Practical (Skill) Test (50 Marks): Vehicle Inspection (10), Identification of Faults (10), Rectification of Defects (25), Handling of Tools (5). Qualifying marks: 50% for all categories.
- Merit List: Drawn on the basis of marks obtained in Written Examination, category-wise.
Phase IV:
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Fitness assessment as per CAPF uniform guidelines.
- Review Medical Examination (RME): For candidates declared UNFIT in DME, subject to written consent within 24 hours.
