- Nature of Engagement: Purely contractual basis for a term of one year, extendable once for one year. Maximum period of engagement is two years.
- Remuneration: Rs. 40,000/- per month as consolidated Honorarium/Stipend. No other allowances or remuneration shall be paid.
- Bar to Practice: Law Researcher/Research Associate shall not practice as a lawyer or take up any other employment (full-time or part-time) during the engagement period.
- Post-Engagement Restriction: Cannot appear before the attached Hon’ble Judge for one year after termination of engagement; cannot appear in any case handled by the attached Judge if worked on that case.
- Confidentiality: Must maintain utmost secrecy regarding all matters coming to notice during engagement, even after completion of term.
- Canvassing: Canvassing in any form shall result in rejection of candidature.
- No TA/DA: No travel allowance or daily allowance shall be paid for appearing in the interview.
- Certificate: On successful completion of term, a certificate will be issued by the Registrar General. No certificate if engagement is terminated prematurely.
- Casual Leave: Entitled to Casual Leave as applicable to State Government employees; no other leave entitlement.
- Recommendation Required: Practicing lawyers must be recommended by a designated Senior Advocate; others must be recommended by the Head of the last Law School/College/University attended.
- Computer Knowledge: Candidates with familiarity with computers will get preference in selection.
- Health & Character: Candidates must possess sound health, good moral character and should not be involved in any criminal case or offence involving moral turpitude.
- High Court Authority: The High Court reserves the right to postpone or cancel the engagement process without mentioning any reason at any time.
