  • Paper-I (MCQ, 2 hours, 300 marks): General Awareness (30 Qs, 60 marks), Reasoning Ability (35 Qs, 70 marks), Mathematical Ability (35 Qs, 70 marks), Test of Language – English or Hindi (30 Qs, 60 marks), Computer Awareness (20 Qs, 40 marks). Applicable to all non-teaching posts.
  • Paper-II (MCQ, 1.5 hours, 100 marks): Subject/domain-specific paper for selected posts including Assistant Registrar, Section Officer, Senior Assistant, System Analyst, Assistant Librarian, Public Relations Officer, Research Officer, Executive Engineers, Junior Engineer (Civil), Computer Operator, Professional Assistant, Assistant Archivist, Semi Professional Assistant, Assistant Manager (Guest House), Statistical Assistant.
  • Skill Test (Qualifying): Stenography and/or Typing test for Private Secretary, Personal Assistant, Stenographer, Assistant, and Junior Assistant.
  • Interview/Personality Test (100 marks): Applicable to all Group A posts only. Weightage: Written Test (Paper-I + Paper-II) = 70%, Interview/Personality Test = 30%.
  • No Interview for Group B and Group C posts as per MoE guidelines.
  • Negative Marking: 1/4th of marks allocated per question for wrong answers in Paper-I and Paper-II.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: General/EWS – 40%; OBC (NCL) – 35%; SC/ST/PwD – 35%.
  • Trade Test/Practical Test: May be conducted wherever applicable as decided by JNU competent authority.
  • Examination mode: Computer Based Test (CBT).

  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC (NCL) – 3 years; PwD – 10 years; PwD + OBC – 13 years; PwD + SC/ST – 15 years; Ex-servicemen – as per GoI norms; Permanent Govt. employees – 5 years (subject to 3 years regular service).
  • Marks Relaxation: 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates wherever percentage is prescribed.
  • Backlog Vacancies: Vacancies under ‘Backlog’ are reserved vacancies carried forward from previous recruitment years and are inclusive of the total number of posts provided.
  • OBC Certificate: Valid NCL-OBC certificate issued on or after 01.04.2026 is required. Certificates issued before 01.04.2026 will not be accepted.
  • EWS Certificate: Valid EWS certificate for the current financial year must be submitted on or before the last date of application.
