- Preference will be given to applicants belonging to neighbouring villages within 16 km radius around the Plant Site. If all trades/disciplines are not filled by such applicants, a merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the particular trade/discipline from other applicants.
- Candidates will be selected for training on the basis of marks obtained in their ITI/Diploma/Graduation course.
- In case of a tie in the percentage of marks, the candidate born earlier shall be considered.
- In case of a tie in Date of Birth, the candidate with a higher percentage in Matriculation will be placed higher on the merit list.

- Ineligibility: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any Government, PSU, or Private Industrial Organisation are not eligible. Absconded apprentice candidates from previous training are also not eligible.
- No Employment Obligation: Completion of apprenticeship training does not obligate NPCIL to offer employment, nor does it obligate the apprentice to accept employment under NPCIL.
- Police Verification: Apprentices will be engaged only after submission of Police Verification Certificate issued by District Police Authorities, as MAPS is a highly prohibited area.
- CGPA Conversion: Candidates awarded CGPA/GPA/SGPA must produce authenticated conversion formula from their Institute/University. Standard conversion table is provided in the notification if formula is unavailable.
- Diploma/Graduate Eligibility: Only candidates who passed Diploma/Graduate degree within 5 years of the last date of application (i.e., on or after 30/06/2021) are eligible to apply on NATS 2.0 portal.
- Category-wise Distribution: SC: 29, ST: 1, OBC (NCL): 41, EWS: 14, UR: 73 (Total: 158).
