- Stage 1 – Shortlisting for Main Examination: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main (Written) Examination based on their normalized scores in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025). Category-wise 15 times the number of advertised posts will be shortlisted (including all candidates up to the final cut-off normalized score up to 2 decimal places). Candidates with zero or negative scores in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted.
- Stage 2 – Main Written Examination: One question paper consisting of 100 objective/multiple-choice questions, duration 2 hours (120 minutes). Each question carries 1 mark. Negative marking of 25% (i.e., 0.25 marks) per wrong answer. Subjects include: History of India & Indian National Movement (5 marks), Geography of India & World (5 marks), Economic & Social Development of India (10 marks), Indian Polity & Constitution (10 marks), General Science & Technology (5 marks), Environmental Ecology & Disaster Management (5 marks), Current Events of National & International Importance (5 marks), Data Interpretation (10 marks), Important Legal Provisions & Policies related to Excise in UP (10 marks), Computer & Information Technology (15 marks), General Information related to Uttar Pradesh (20 marks). Total: 100 marks.
- Stage 3 – Physical Measurement Test (Qualifying): For Male candidates: Chest minimum 80 cm (unexpanded) and minimum 85 cm (expanded); Height minimum 167.6 cm. For Female candidates: Weight minimum 45 kg; Height minimum 152 cm (General), minimum 147 cm (SC/ST).
- Stage 4 – Physical Efficiency Test (Qualifying): Male candidates: 4.8 km run in 25 minutes. Female candidates: 2.4 km run in 14 minutes. Candidates failing to complete the run within the prescribed time will be disqualified.
- Final Selection: Based on marks obtained in the Main Written Examination, subject to qualifying the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test.
- If the examination is held in more than one shift/day, normalization of scores will be applied as per the prescribed procedure.

- Eligibility for Main Exam: Only candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and have been issued a PET-2025 Score Card by the Commission are eligible to apply for the Main Examination.
- Preferential Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates who have (a) served in the Territorial Army for a period of two years, or (b) obtained the ‘B’ Certificate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
