Ayurvedic Medical Officer
- No. of Vacancies: 32 (UR-02, SEBC-12 (04-W), SC-16 (05-W), ST-02; 01 post reserved for PwD)
- Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) or equivalent Degree from a University/Institution recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine; must be registered under Odisha State Council of Ayurvedic Medicines; must have completed compulsory rotatory internship/housemanship by last date of application.
- Age Limit: 21 to 42 years as on 01.01.2026 (born not earlier than 02.01.1984 and not later than 01.01.2005). Age relaxation: 5 years for SEBC/SC/ST/Women/Ex-Servicemen; 10 years for PwD (40% or more disability); 15 years for PwD belonging to SEBC/SC/ST.
- Pay Scale: Rs. 44,900/- (Level 10, Cell-1 of Pay Matrix under Rule-3 of ORSP Rules, 2017) with usual Dearness and other Allowances
Selection Procedure

- Written Examination (Objective Type): Selection shall be made on the basis of a Written Examination consisting of two papers (Paper-I and Paper-II), each carrying 100 marks (100 questions of 1 mark each) with a duration of 1½ hours per paper. Total marks: 200.
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Qualifying Marks: 50% for UR & SEBC candidates; 45% for PwD category; 40% for SC & ST category candidates.
- Merit List: A merit list shall be prepared equal to the number of advertised vacancies. In case of tie, the candidate with higher marks in BAMS Examination shall be ranked higher; if still tied, the elder candidate shall be placed above the younger.
- Exam Syllabus (Paper-I): Rog Vigyan & Vikritivigyan (20), Rasashastra and Bhaisajya Kalpana (20), Dravyagunavigyan (20), Kriya Sharira (05), Rachana Sharira (05), Swastha Vritta (05), Agada Tantra, Vyavahar Ayurveda & Vidhi Vaidyak (05), Astanga Hridaya-Sutrasthana (15), Ayurveda Itihas (05). Total: 100 marks.
- Exam Syllabus (Paper-II): Charaka (20), Kayachikitsa (20), Shalyatantra (15), Shalakyatantra (10), Prasutitantra & Stri Roga (10), Kaumaraviritya (10), Panchakarma (15). Total: 100 marks.
- Date of Written Examination: 22.11.2026 (Sunday) at Kataka/Bhubaneswar.
- Medical Examination: Every selected candidate shall be examined by the Medical Board before appointment.
