Selection Procedure

- Written Examination: Objective type MCQ-based written test of 150 questions, 150 marks, duration 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes).
- No Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in this examination.
- Medium: Question paper will be in Hindi and English (except language subjects).
- Qualifying Marks (General/Unreserved): Minimum 60% i.e., 90 out of 150 marks.
- Qualifying Marks (SC/ST/OBC/Freedom Fighter Dependents/Ex-Servicemen/PwD/EWS): Minimum 55% i.e., 82 out of 150 marks.
- Normalization: If the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, normalization of scores will be applied as per UPESSC notification dated 26-02-2026.
- Syllabus (Primary Level – Class 1 to 5): Child Development & Pedagogy (30 MCQ), Language I – Hindi (30 MCQ), Language II – English/Urdu/Sanskrit (30 MCQ), Mathematics (30 MCQ), Environmental Studies (30 MCQ). Total: 150 MCQ.

- Upload passport-size photograph (30KB–300KB, 300–600 pixel resolution, JPG/JPEG format) and signature (10KB–200KB, 140×110 pixel resolution, JPG/JPEG format).
- Upload all required certificates/documents in PDF format (50KB–500KB each).
- Pay the application fee online via Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking.
- Submit the application form before the last date. Corrections can be made up to 08/10/2026.

Other Important Information
- Background: The Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 1385/2025 dated 01-09-2025 made TET mandatory for all teachers. Subsequently, by order dated 29 May 2026, all working teachers must pass the Teacher Eligibility Test by 31 August 2028.
- Applicability: The Special TET is applicable for teachers working in government-run, local body, state-aided, and recognized schools at Primary (Class 1-5) and Upper Primary (Class 6-8) levels in Uttar Pradesh.
- MHRMS Code Required: All regular teachers at Primary/Upper Primary level must enter their MHRMS code while applying online.
- CRR Number Required: Special Educators (CWSN) must enter their active CRR number along with RCI registration certificate number.
- Exam Centres: Exam centres will be at district headquarters. Candidates may be allotted any centre. District information will be available 10 days before exam; centre information 3 days before exam via admit card download link on website.
- Scribe Facility: PwD (Divyangjan) candidates are entitled to a scribe as per government orders dated 04-12-2019 and 08-09-2022. Candidates must register for scribe facility at the commission office one week before the exam. Additional time of 20 minutes per hour will be given.
- OMR Sheet Instructions: Only black ball-point pen to be used. Use of eraser, whitener, blade, or any other means to erase OMR sheet is strictly prohibited and will result in cancellation.
- Date of Birth: Only the date of birth as mentioned in High School/equivalent certificate will be accepted.
- Reservation: Reserved category benefits are available only to UP domicile candidates. For female candidates, caste certificate from father’s side is valid. EWS certificate must be of the previous year of application.
- Application Correction: Candidates can correct errors in the application form up to the last date specified by the commission (08-10-2026). Fee once paid is non-refundable.
