- Nature of Engagement: Purely on short-term contractual basis, initially for a period of six months, extendable up to three (03) years.
- Full-Time Job: The engagement is a full-time job and does not confer any right of permanent employment at DIAC.
- Working Hours: Candidates may be required to work at odd hours and on holidays.
- Premature Discharge: The Deputy Counsel may be prematurely discharged without any notice irrespective of the term of contract.
- Notice Period: Deputy Counsel intending to leave prematurely must give at least one-month prior notice in writing to the Coordinator.
- Code of Conduct: Must maintain absolute devotion to duty, high standard of morals, integrity, and utmost secrecy during and after the term of engagement.
- Restriction on Practice: The Deputy Counsel shall not practise as an Advocate in any Court of Law or Tribunal or before any other authority during the course of engagement.
- No Other Assignment: The Deputy Counsel shall not accept any other assignment during the term of engagement.
- Disqualification Grounds: Currently employed at DIAC or previously served in the same position; involved in any criminal case involving moral turpitude; facing disciplinary proceedings before Bar Council of India or any State Bar Council.
- Declaration Required: Prior to appointment, selected candidates must execute a contract with DIAC and submit a declaration confirming eligibility, abidance by DIAC rules, disclosure of conflict of interest, and fair and impartial conduct.
- Vacancy Note: 09 (Nine) anticipated vacancies subject to upward revision.
