Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Merit-Based Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on merit drawn from marks scored in qualifying examination (Graduation/Diploma) or average of Matriculation and NTC/STC passing percentage (for ITI Trades).
- Graduate & Diploma Apprentices: Merit will be drawn on the basis of marks scored in qualifying Graduation/Diploma examination. Candidates will be arranged in decreasing order of marks scored.
- ITI Trade Apprentices: Merit will be drawn on the basis of average of passing percentage in Matriculation and respective NTC/STC of the trade. Candidates will be arranged in decreasing order of average marks.
- Tie-Breaking: In case of a tie, preference will be given to the candidate born earlier (by Date of Birth). If still unresolved, preference will be given to the candidate whose name appears first in English Dictionary (Roman script) arrangement.
- Document Scrutiny: Shortlisted candidates will be called for scrutiny of original documents. Date and venue will be notified on NCL official website and NAPS/NATS portal or through email.
- Medical Test: Final offer for Apprenticeship Training is subject to clearing a Medical Test as per prescribed standards under the Mines Rules 1955. A fitness certificate from a medical officer of a government hospital (rank not less than Assistant Civil Surgeon) is mandatory.
- Apprenticeship Contract: The apprenticeship contract will be generated through NATS/NAPS portal and must be accepted by the candidate. The contract will be operative between the Apprenticeship Trainee and General Manager (HRD)/Head of Department (HRD), NCL, subject to approval by BOAT-Western Region/RDSDE Bhopal officials.

Other Important Information
- Training Duration: One year from the day of engagement as per the Apprentice Act, 1961.
- Eligibility: Only Indian Nationals who have passed requisite Degree/Diploma/ITI Trade from AICTE/BTE/UGC/SCVT/NCVT recognized Institute or University functional in Uttar Pradesh or Madhya Pradesh are eligible.
- Qualification Validity: Candidates must not have passed their Graduation/Diploma/ITI Course prior to June 2022.
- No Prior Apprenticeship: Candidates who have undergone Apprenticeship earlier, are currently pursuing Apprenticeship Training, or have job experience of 1 year or more are ineligible.
- Higher Qualification: Candidates possessing higher qualification over and above the prescribed qualification shall not be considered eligible.
- Single Application: A candidate may apply for any one of the notified positions only. Multiple applications will lead to disqualification.
- No Absorption: Apprenticeship Trainees shall not be absorbed in NCL as regular employees. Apprenticeship training is purely temporary and statutory in nature.
- Stipend Payment: Stipend will be paid directly into the Aadhaar-linked bank account of the trainee. For Graduate and Diploma Apprentices, stipend is inclusive of Government of India share paid through DBT.
- PwBD Reservation: Total PwBD candidates (Horizontal reservation) who may be accommodated: 58. Disability certificate from competent authority as per Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules 2017 is required.
- Leave Entitlement: Apprentices are eligible for 11 days Casual Leave and 15 days Medical Leave per year of training.
- Working Hours: Establishment will engage Apprentices between 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Workmen Compensation: Apprentices will be covered by Workmen Compensation Act, 1923 for any accident during Apprenticeship training.
- No TA/DA: No Travel Allowance/Daily Allowance will be paid to shortlisted candidates called for scrutiny.
- No Accommodation: Apprenticeship Trainees will not be provided any accommodation, food/lodging, or transport during the training period.
- Jurisdiction: Any dispute concerning engagement of Apprenticeship Trainee will be subject to courts/tribunals of Singrauli, MP only.
