56th NCC Special Entry Scheme Course Selection Procedure
The selection procedure for the 56th NCC Special Entry Scheme Course involves several stages:
(a) Shortlisting of Applications:
- The Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications without providing reasons.
- Shortlisted candidates will receive an email indicating their Centre allotment.
- Candidates will need to log in to the website and select their SSB dates, initially available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Later, the Selection Centres will allocate dates. Note: Exceptional circumstances/events may forfeit the option to select SSB dates.
(b) SSB Interview at Selection Centres:
- Only shortlisted eligible candidates will undergo the SSB interview at Selection Centres in Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bangalore (Karnataka), and Jalandhar (Punjab).
- The call-up letter for the SSB interview will be issued via registered email and SMS only.
- The allocation of the Selection Centre is solely at the discretion of the Directorate General of Recruiting, and no requests for changes will be entertained.
(c) Two-Stage Selection Procedure:
- The selection process comprises two stages. Candidates clearing Stage I proceed to Stage II, while those failing in Stage I are returned on the same day.
- The SSB interview duration is five days, with details available on the official website of the Directorate General of Recruiting (www.joinindianarmy.nic.in).
- Successful candidates from Stage II proceed to a medical examination.
(d) Recommendation and Joining Letter:
- Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will receive a joining letter for training based on merit and vacancies, provided they meet all eligibility criteria.
