Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): The selection process shall consist of a CBT of 100 marks. The qualifying marks for the CBT will be 40 marks. The CBT will be of 02 hours 40 minutes duration (including 40 minutes compensatory time for PwBD). The CBT will be bilingual (English & Assamese) and will consist of MCQ format with NO negative marking.
- Section A: General English & General Knowledge/Awareness and Questions on Oil India Limited – 20 Marks
- Section B: Reasoning, Arithmetic/Numerical & Mental Ability – 20 Marks
- Section C: Domain or Relevant Technical Knowledge – 60 Marks
- Total: 100 Marks
- Document Verification Process: Candidates will be shortlisted in the order of merit based on CBT marks and called for Document Verification in the ratio of 1:1. All original documents and self-attested photocopies must be produced at this stage.
- Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME): Provisionally selected candidates will undergo PEME at OIL Hospital, Duliajan or by a Government Medical Officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon or by an Authorized Medical Officer of a company-empaneled hospital.
- Final Selection: Final selection will be made in order of merit based on CBT marks, subject to fulfillment of all prescribed eligibility criteria. There is NO provision for any waiting list.

- Special Recruitment Drive: This recruitment is exclusively for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
- Total Vacancies: 49 posts (Grade III: 45, Grade VII: 4) across various PwBD categories (a, b, c, d&e).
- Location: OIL Field Headquarters, Duliajan, Assam. Posts involve working in shifts in arduous and hazardous conditions in remote/far-flung OIL installations in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
- Application Fee: Candidates are exempted from payment of online application fee.
- Travel Reimbursement: Candidates appearing in CBT will be reimbursed 2nd class Rail/Bus fare by the shortest route on production of proof.
- Probation Period: Provisionally selected candidates will be appointed as ‘Probationer’ for 12 months, extendable by 6 months (up to two extensions) if performance is unsatisfactory.
- Scribe Facility: Available for eligible PwBD candidates on production of certificate from Competent Authority. Candidates must arrange their own scribe at their own cost.
- Age Relaxation: 10 years for PwBD (in addition to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC-NCL). Internal OIL employees and Work Contract Labours may get additional age relaxation up to a maximum age of 50 years.
- Apprentice Candidates: Trade apprentices (Post Codes 1-4) and Diploma apprentices (Post Code 6) who completed training in OIL are eligible to apply and will receive additional age relaxation equal to the duration of their apprenticeship training.
