- Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or equivalent qualification recognised by Central Government (as on 31.12.2026). Matriculate Ex-servicemen with Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or equivalent after 15 years of service are also eligible.
- Age Limit: 20 to 28 years as on 01.04.2026 (born between 02.04.1998 and 01.04.2006). Relaxation: OBC - 3 years; SC/ST - 5 years; PwBD (OBC) - 13 years; PwBD (SC/ST) - 15 years; Ex-Servicemen - Actual service + 3 years (max 50 years); Widows/Divorced Women - 7 years (max 38 for OBC, 40 for SC/ST); Trained SBI Apprentices - OBC 4 yrs, SC/ST 6 yrs, PwBD(OBC) 14 yrs, PwBD(SC/ST) 16 yrs.
- Pay Scale: Rs. 24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480. Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 26,730/-. Total starting emoluments at Metro (Mumbai): approx. Rs. 46,000/- per month inclusive of DA and other allowances.
Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure:
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Online)
- Objective Test for 100 marks, 1 hour duration.
- English Language: 30 questions, 30 marks, 20 minutes.
- Numerical Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes.
- Reasoning Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes.
- Negative marking: 1/4th mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- No minimum qualifying marks prescribed for individual tests or aggregate.
- Approximately 10 times the number of vacancies (subject to availability) will be shortlisted for Main Exam.
Phase-II: Main Examination (Online)
- General/Financial Awareness: 50 questions, 50 marks, 35 minutes.
- General English: 40 questions, 40 marks, 35 minutes.
- Quantitative Aptitude: 50 questions, 50 marks, 45 minutes.
- Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude: 50 questions, 60 marks, 45 minutes.
- Total: 190 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours 40 minutes.
- Negative marking: 1/4th mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- Candidates must score minimum percentage marks on aggregate as decided by the Bank.
- Trained SBI Apprentices get bonus marks of 2.5% of maximum marks (5 marks out of 200) added to aggregate score.

Phase-III: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)
- Applicable to provisionally selected candidates who have not studied the specified local language in Class 10th or 12th.
- Non-Verbal Test: 3 passages, 15 objective + 15 subjective questions, 15+15 marks.
- Verbal Test: 20 marks.
- Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks as decided by the Bank.
- Candidates failing to qualify will not be offered appointment.
Final Selection: Based on aggregate marks in Main Examination (Phase-II marks only). Preliminary Exam marks not added for final merit. Subject to verification of eligibility and qualifying in Local Language Test.

- Special Recruitment Drive: This recruitment is specifically for SC/ST/OBC Backlog Vacancies.
- State Restriction: Candidates can apply for vacancies in ONE State/UT only and can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project.
- Local Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, understanding) in the specified local language of the State/UT applied for. A language test will be conducted after Main Examination but before joining.
- No Inter-Circle/Inter-State Transfer: There is no provision for Inter Circle Transfer/Inter State Transfer for Junior Associates. Intra-State transfer is permitted only between Delhi Circle & Lucknow Circle (Uttar Pradesh) and Mumbai Metro Circle & Maharashtra Circle (Maharashtra).
- Probation Period: Minimum 6 months. Newly recruited Junior Associates must complete e-lessons prescribed by the Bank during probation for confirmation.
- OBC Non-Creamy Layer: OBC candidates must belong to Non-Creamy Layer. OBC certificate must be issued on or after 01.04.2026.
- Ineligibility: Candidates currently working in SBI in Clerical cadre or who previously resigned from SBI while in clerical cadre are NOT eligible.
