Selection Procedure

- Organization: Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) is constituted under Section 211 of the Companies Act, 2013. It is a multidisciplinary investigating agency headed by a Director in the rank of Joint Secretary to the Government of India.
- Offices: Head Office at Delhi; Regional Offices at Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.
- Period of Engagement: Initial term of 3 years, extendable by 2 years on case-to-case basis. Maximum period is 5 years or till attaining age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. Subject to successful review every 6 months.
- Leave: 8 days per year on pro-rata basis. Absence up to one month may be considered without remuneration. Women consultants may be eligible for maternity leave as per Government of India instructions.
- TA/DA: Travel within the country for official work is permissible with prior approval of the Director, SFIO, as per entitlement of officers in pay level 9 to 11 in pay matrix.
- No Allowances: Consultants are not entitled to conveyance allowance, dearness allowance, residential, telephone, transport facility, residential accommodation, CGHS, or medical reimbursement.
- Confidentiality: Consultants must adhere to the Official Secrets Act, 1923 (Act No. 19) and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Contract remains provisional till police verification is received.
- Exclusivity: Engagement is on full-time basis; consultants cannot take up any other assignment during the period of engagement.
- Retired Government Employees: Those with grade pay of Rs. 7600 (Pay Matrix-12) and above with at least 10 years’ experience in the required domain can be engaged as consultants.
- Termination: Engagement may be cancelled at any time by SFIO without assigning any reason. False declarations or suppression of material information shall lead to termination and possible legal action.
