Selection Procedure

- Screening: Applications will be screened by a duly constituted Screening Committee to shortlist candidates for the Trade Test.
- Trade Test: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Trade Test. Only those who qualify in the Trade Test will be called for the Competitive Written Examination.
- Competitive Written Examination (OMR/CBT – Objective Type MCQ):
- Paper-I (1 hour): Mental Ability Test (General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Problem Solving, Situational Judgement) – 50 Questions, 100 Marks, No Negative Marking.
- Paper-II (30 minutes): General Awareness (25 Qs, 75 Marks) + English Language (25 Qs, 75 Marks) – 1 negative mark per wrong answer.
- Paper-III (1 hour): Concerned Subject/Trade – 50 Questions, 150 Marks – 1 negative mark per wrong answer.
- Merit List: Final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III only. Paper-II & Paper-III will be evaluated only for candidates securing minimum threshold marks in Paper-I.
- Tie-breaking: In case of tie, resolved by: (i) Higher marks in concerned subject/trade, (ii) Lesser negative marks, (iii) Date of Birth (older candidate ranked higher), (iv) Earlier acquisition of essential degree, (v) Alphabetical order of first names.
