4.1 Order of Preference:
A) First Preference: Candidates representing the country in International Competitions, cleared by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.
B) Second Preference: Participants representing a State/Union Territory in Senior or Junior Level National championships organized by recognized National Sports Federations or National Games organized by Indian Olympics Association, winning medals up to 3rd place. Preference given to winners in Senior National Championships.
C) Third Preference: Participants representing a University in Inter-University competitions by the Association of Indian Universities, winning medals up to 3rd place in finals.
D) Fourth Preference: Candidates representing the State Schools in National Sports/Games for Schools by the All-India School Games Federation, securing medals up to 3rd place.
E) Fifth Preference: Individuals awarded National Award in physical efficiency under National Physical Efficiency Drive.
F) Sixth Preference: Participants representing a State/Union Territory/University State School Teams, as mentioned in categories (B) to (D) but not securing medals, in the same order of preference.
Notes:
- In case of a tie, preference may be given to candidates securing higher positions or winning multiple medals.
- Both individual and team event participation might receive equal preference.
- No added preference for winning multiple medals/positions.
- In case of doubt about a tournament’s status, clarification will be sought from the DoPT in consultation with the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.
