About UGC NET 2024

UGC NET is a national-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to assess the eligibility of Indian nationals for receiving a Junior Research Fellowship or being appointed as an Assistant Professor.

This exam determines whether Indian nationals qualify for a Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professorship, or admission into Ph.D. programs at Indian universities and colleges.

If you pass under the ‘Assistant Professor and Ph.D. admission’ category, you can become an Assistant Professor and pursue a Ph.D. However, you won’t receive a Junior Research Fellowship.

Qualifying under the ‘Ph.D. admission only’ category makes you eligible solely for Ph.D. programs.
